Childhood Memories

Oil Pastel

Childhood Memories- Oil Pastel

This is my latest piece. It has a lot of meaning to me because the subjects were items given to me by people who are very close to me. This was the first time I have ever done an oil pastel. It was challenging to create the right colors, but I enjoyed it.

Summer Charge

Acrylic

This piece was created using an underpainting. This is one of my favorite works of art. It was tons of fun to mix the colors, but it was challenging to create the proper shades of each color.

Ice Man's Calypso

Collage

This is a magazine collage. I used several different magazines to find the right tints and shades of colors, as well as the different textures. The reason for the horse is that I love horses and I ended up on a horse roll.

Oliver

Scratch Art

This a black and white scratch art piece. It was not my favorite piece to work on, but I like the outcome. It took a lot of time. I chose to do a cat because my sister loves them, and the image that I used is very similar to one of our own cats.

Blendo

Acrylic

This is a color wheel. In my art class this year, we had a couple different levels of art classes. The lower level did one of these, and I thought I looked like fun. So, me being the only one in the upper level, I wanted to do one of my own. I created the design my self and used a light-box to copy it all the way around the circle.

Pride Flies

Mixed Media (Acrylic and Watercolor)

This piece is a mixed media using watercolor and acrylic. I did the sky in watercolor and the rest in acrylic. It was done for my school's Veteran's Day Program. Each part has a different meaning. The background sky and horizon represent my rural community. The Bible represents religion, and the eagle stand for America.

Smith Falls

Watercolor

This piece is a watercolor. It was the first time I had ever used watercolor, and I really had fun with it. The inspiration came from a landmark in Nebraska that I had a connection to. This piece also won the 2017 ESU #17 Art Competition and will be on display until the fall of  2018.

Donna Swim Portrait

Pencil

This piece was not done in my art class. It is the only piece I have ever been paid to do. I used pencil, which is one of my favorite mediums.
